Track Name: Two Years
Two years ago today
My house was filled with flames
I lost a family fortune
And the house where I was raised
I only left this phonograph
To remind you I'm ashamed
You can't expect to smell
Your family burn & ever feel the same.

I was lost and I have been ever since
Around my heart I built a barbed wire fence.
I was lost and have been since the day I left
This tragedy I kept has helped me lose,
My home, my family, & all my friends.

It's the call you never want to take
It's all the apathetic games they play
And so I built a wall inside myself
To hide my lonliness and shame
I only wish I could've been there
When her dress was just a blaze
I could've ran and brought the water back
And pulled her from the flames unscathed.

I was lost and I have been ever since
Around my heart I built a barbed wire fence.
I was lost and have been since the day I left
This tragedy I kept has helped me lose,
My home, my family, & all my friends.

All my friends, If I was lost
I know they'd seek me out.
& all my friends would put me out
If I was burning down.
Track Name: Osiris
Take me in like a boy without a tribe.
Show me what it's like to live inside.
Walk me to the shore and show
me where to hide, & lay me in the tide.
Cradle me & rock me like a lighthouse bell,
that's calling every time the ocean swells.
She feels like fiction beautiful but lacks sincerity.
She feels like fiction her body is an odyssey.

Take me in like a painting of a river wide,
and show me your hillsides.
Read to me & show me how to write,
& sing to me at night.
She feels like fiction beautiful but lacks sincerity.
She feels like fiction her body is an odyssey.
Track Name: Heaven's Waitin'
She came & left just like a dream
She came & left last night it seems
She left her dress & left her shoes
Leapt out the window & away she flew
She takes a part of me wherever she goes
I tried to tell her but I don't think she knows,
Anymore.

I walked her through the parking lot
My voice was slow and steady
She showed me some fenders
Like a sixty-seven Chevy
She said I could come here any night
Heaven's waitin' when you're ready.

Take me in like a boy without a tribe
Show me what it's like to live inside
Cuz I want it & I need it like you do
Take me in like a painting of a river wide
And show me your hillsides
Cuz I want it & I need it like you do.
She takes a part of me wherever she goes
I tried to tell her but I don't think she knows,
Anymore.
Track Name: LaMotta
Ain't got no ties to no woman
she ain't got no ties on me.
When I was willing to love her
she up and gave me misery.
Now that I'm ready to please her
all she wants to show me is to the door.
How could she love me and leave me
when she see's me bleeding on the floor.
I said you don't have to go.
She said she just could stay.
I threw my heart out the door
as she went on her way.

It isn't over cuz it
happened several times before.
How could she love me and leave me
when see's me bleeding on the floor.
I'm feeling broke like a levy, busted like a Chevy,
my whiskey bottle's poisoned
but my drinkin hand is steady.
Ain't got no ties to no woman
she ain't got no ties on me.

When I was willing to love her
she up and moved to Tennesee.
I tried to love her right.
I tried to hold her tight.
She either wants to fuck me
or she only wants to fight.
Ain't got no ties to no woman
she ain't got no ties on me.
She said I don't gotta go.
I said I just couldn't stay.
She said she'd heard that before
as I went on my way.
Track Name: Seashell Mind
Some people say
the good times only fade away.
They're gonna leave you alone again
to sink in the waves,
but the bad times they last
leave you empty like a dirty glass
or like the bottle you drink
just becomes another piece of trash.

Live in the sun while you can my love,
cuz once this sun's gone your sky will be black.
Live in the sun while you can my love
cuz once this sons gone he ain't coming back.

My father says
every wave comes and passes you by
and any wave that you love
is just an echo in your seashell mind,
and the bad times they last
like a car that's run out of gas
will leave you stranded by the roadside.
You'd been better off if you'd have crashed.
Track Name: Edmond / You're Welcome
I wish I was kicking up dust
like a white painted bus,
that could carry me far
from the cold county bars,
take me to a saloon
do some drugs in the car.
Realize the prison system
I was living in was just inside my heart.

I stumbled out of bed
my head was rock & roll a mess
I didn't care to drag a comb through it
cuz back in high school no one gave a shit.
My dreams were noble gas.
I got straight Zs ins every class.
I never go to church, but every year
I pray that I might pass.
My friends were like the walking dead.
I spent the summer in my head.
To keep myself from dying young
I burried myself in a book instead.
Until an angel led me to the institute
and bled and left a trail
for other exiles like me.
Across the university
to the room beneath the stage
to were the violins once played
she kissed me on the mouth
and whispered to me
I should never feel afraid.
I stumbled out on my front lawn
the sky was full of falling bombs.
I called in sick for the apocalypse
in time to see the hydrogen eclipse.
